The Bible and Sexism

The Bible can be seen to both support and attack sexism. Have a look at the section 'Is Christianity sexist?', which highlights some of the key biblical passages used on both sides of the debate.

As well as using these, remember the general teaching on equality. For example, being 'Made in God's image' applies to both men and women - in fact, many female expressions are used to describe God in the Bible.

Also, passages like "if you show favouritism, you sin and are convicted by the law as lawbreakers" (James 2:9) can be used against sexism.
